About The Project
A beat is all timing.
So is a robot.
For the launch of MPC Live 3, InMusic Brands came to REMEDY with a bold, specific vision already in motion. Two artists. One track. A custom performance. A camera move that needed to feel as locked-in as the music itself.
They had the idea, the previs, the song, and the creative ambition.
They called us for the robot.
The Ask
InMusic Brands was launching a major new product inside a larger campaign, and this piece needed to launch it in style.
The creative leaned heavily on motion control: repeatable camera movement, synced performance, lighting shifts, and a visual rhythm that would let two artists feel connected inside the same track. The camera could not just capture the idea. The camera was part of the idea.
The challenge was turning an animated previs into a real production plan.
Their team had never done a project with cinema robots before, so they brought REMEDY in to help pressure-test the concept, define what was possible, and find smart solutions for the parts that needed to shift once the idea met the real world.
The Solution
We translated the vision into a motion control system that could actually perform.
That meant a full day of testing, programming, product placement, lighting setup, and robot choreography. Every move had to be built around the music, timed to the beat, and repeatable across multiple takes.
The real unlock was sync.
We built a workflow where the playback, lights, and robot could all trigger together, keeping the entire performance locked from take to take. Not close. Locked.
That precision mattered because the edit depended on it. If the robot moved the same way every time, and the performers stayed tied to the track, the final piece could cut between takes and artists seamlessly, making the performances feel interchangeable without losing momentum.
There were moments where we had to be honest about what motion control could and could not do. But that is where the best collaboration usually happens. We could tell them what would be hard, then offer another path that protected the feeling of the original idea.
The robot was not there to show off.
It was there to serve the rhythm.
The Deliverables
REMEDY led video production, cinema robot motion control, motion programming, testing, and lighting support for the MPC Live 3 launch video.
The production included a dedicated test and programming day, a synced robot, lighting, and playback workflow, and a repeatable motion control setup designed to make multiple performances feel seamlessly connected.
InMusic Brands handled the final edit as part of the larger MPC Live 3 launch campaign. The result is one of the most precise, music-driven product launches we’ve been part of, and a clear example of what motion control can do when it is built into the creative from the start.
